Julian almost did not make it out of his family's burning house, and for that matter out of France during the French Revolution. He lost his father, and his brothers to the fire that faithful night. Now, Julian is all grown up. Many years have passed, but one day out of no where he receives a letter from his old family butler informing him that he has found his brother Armand is alive! Julian must go back to France and save him. The only problem is that France is still at war with England, and Julian Harcourt's family is still being actively hunted.

Sara Smith has wonderful job as governess to a wonderful family. When her employer asks her to become a spy and spy on Julian Harcourt she is dumb founded and quickly refuses, until she is threatened. Now, she must play the part of some girl that is a family friend of Julian Harcourt's family. She does not even know about or how to even gather information on Julian Harcourt. She must prove that he is a traitor to his country. Will Sara be able to gather information on Julian without falling in love with him? Will Julian be able to rescue his brother without being captured, or will he be swept away by Sara's charm and beauty?

Right from page one I was instantly captured by Shana's book “The Making of a Duchess”. I could not put this book down, I was absolutely engrossed in Julian Harcourt's life. This book is so exciting that you will be on edge right to the end, and the end of this book is even more shocking. A great fast paced book, never once did it lack enjoyment or excitement. I will be reading the second book this series, and I can hardly wait to get started.

VampireBooks.ca Interview with Romance Author Berengaria Brown

VampireBooks.ca Interview with Romance Author Berengaria Brown

Q: How long does it typically take you to write a book?

A: Like most authors, the day job is a fact of life for me, so I have to fit writing around it. This means I tend to write in the evenings, at weekends, and on vacations. Most of my books are novella-length, less than 25,000 words, so they are faster to write than a full-length novel.

Of course I would never, ever write in boring business meetings, when I should be listening to the speakers. *cough*

VampireBooks.ca Book Review Of "The Reluctant Vampire" by Lynsay Sands ( 5 Bats Out Of 5 )

Harper Stoyan, lost his first lifemate during her turning into a vampire. Harper never thought he would get over the death of his life mate Jenny, or even have the possibility of meeting another lifemate during his life time. Harper has done nothing but blame himself for Jenny's death ever since. He has not even allowed himself to look at another female, or so much as smiled in the direction of one since that time. This will all soon change when a Spanish hottie named Drina Argenis, an immortal hunter, arrives at Casey's Cottage. She is there to help protect a young newly turned vampire named Stephanie from Leonius, a no-fanger rogue vampire, who wants to kidnap her.

Drina Argenis knows that Harper is her lifemate, but has been told not to let Harper know this too soon as he is still mourning Jenny's death. If only Drina's lifemate Harper can put the death of his first lifemate behind him, and focus on what's infront of him. Will Harper ever realize it, or will he spend the rest of his life alone? Will Drina have the patience to wait for Harper to finish mourning, or will Drina move on and find another lifemate? Drina and Harper's love will be put to the test in this wonderful thrilling novel The Reluctant Vampire by Lynsay Sands.

Lynsay Sands books just rock. I have read all of her books from the Argeneau series and everyone of them keeps getting better and better. The Reluctant Vampire is full of twists and turns that will have you turning the pages at lighting speed wanting to know what is going to happen next. I can never seem to put down Lynsay's books. I always end up staying up all night reading her books, Gee- I hate that. This book is one I really enjoyed. The humorous banter that she weaves in is just excellent! AWESOME job Lynsay, I can't wait to read your next novel in this series.

VampireBooks.ca Interview with Paranormal M/M Romance Author DH Starr

Q: Where is your favortie place to write, where do you feel most creative?

A: Honestly, this is a lame answer, but I love writing in front of my TV in my living room. I put the tube on for background noise and then I lose myself in my work. I think, when writing Feed, prey, Love, I had the Twilight Trilogy playing at least 20 or 30 times just to keep my mind in that vampire mode.

Q: How many books have you written? Do you have a favorite?

A: I have no idea, to be honest. I think I'm over...ten? It depends on your definition of a book, I guess. And if you count upcoming work. If you're talking full length novels I am at five-ish.

I've written two published novels, Stone Masters: A Vampire’s Reckoning and Orpheus: A Vampire’s Rise. The third book in the series has a tentative release date of Fall 2011.

I have a fondness for each book and it's hard to say which one is my favorite.
