Q: Do you have any role models? Have there been any other writers that have inspired you?
A: Personal role models differ from professional ones. I want to emulate the Dalai Lama's peacefulness and compassion. As for professional role models—that's hard to say. I'm not as ambitious about my writing as, say, a Jayne Ann Krentz or a Brenda Novak. I know Brenda personally and admire her greatly, but when I think about her life—she has five children and writes several books annually—I want to lie down and take a nice nap.
